To all the knitters,
At the Rotary Conference a few weeks ago, we were able to hand over the first consignment of 125 hats to Dr. John Phillips, who is heading the Rotary GBI Taskforce in the Ukraine.
He told the Conference that many babies are being born premature and in unsuitable places ie. bus shelters, cellars etc. He will be taking your hats along with other essential supplies such as neonatal incubators.
A further consignment of over 100 is ready to be passed on.
A really big 'THANK YOU' to all you knitters - you will never know how much your clicking needles will have given a ray of hope and support to all those desperate Mums and their newborn babies.
