2026 is better still!
Building the success of the last two Celebration Days, this year we will look at the amazing work that takes place across our Circuit in promoting and protecting the environment. Our theme is 'Living Hope for Creation' and we will celebrate and look forward together on Saturday 20 June 2026 from 2pm to 7pm at Central Methodist Church, Wednesbury (take a look at this page to find the venue).

There is lots to do, take part in, and think about... but above all, to enjoy and to celebrate! Please join us - all are welcome!

What's happening on the day?

We have an action packed enjoyable and thought-provoking day - celebrating our churches and our Circuit, and thinking more about our theme of Living Hope for Creation... what can we do to take better care of our world and to actively improve it where we are? The day will feature displays, a marketplace, workshops and activities and will feature a keynote address from Helen Stephens, Head of Church Relations at A Rocha UK - the organisation administers Eco Church and Eco Circuit.
The day will give you plenty of chance to try something new or to learn about a different aspect of Circuit life and better ways to protect the environment.
There will be time and space for prayer, and plenty of time to sit and chat with friends from your church and across the Circuit. Refreshments will be available all afternoon and a free buffet tea will be provided at 6pm.

At 5pm we will join together as a Circuit family to celebrate in Worship. This will feature many of the items created and explored in the workshops and activities during the day.

Church Footprints

Each church has been invited to create large cardboard footprints to show what they are doing, and what they plan to do, to be more eco-friendly and be more aware of their impact on the environment. Come and see the amazing things our churches are doing!
Collaborative Craft Workshop

Join us for hands-on craft workshops where the focus is very much the use of recycled and upcycled materials. Try something new and learn new skills in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. We will work together to create a collaborative sculpture that will not only look amazing, but will carry our eco theme back to the churches in our Circuit.

All abilities or none are welcome to come and join in - accompanied children welcome too! The Workshop will run over both workshop sessions. Drop in and join us!
Science Workshop

Come and experience science experiments and demonstrations with an eco twist. Fun, educational and thought-provoking... and much better than the science lessons we had at school! Our resident Science Professor will show how science, the environment and the things we do every day are all linked together in ways you've never thought of.
Hymn-writing Workshop

Do you see yourself as a bit of a Charles Wesley or the next Graham Kendrick? Then this is the workshop for you. We will be writing our own eco-themed hymn to a well-known tune. It will be given its premier in our worship at the end of the day and then will be used around the circuit over the coming months.
Prayer Space

Come and explore some different, and perhaps new, ways of praying - or simply come and spend some quiet time. You can also help write and shape the prayers that will be used in our worship at the end of the day.
Bible Conversation

This is not a bible study! This is a inspiring conversation about the Bible, how Scripture influences our lives, is concerned with the world that God made us all stewards of, and how it contains all we need to know to live our lives in a way that takes care of creation. We truly have a Living Hope for Creation!
Keynote Speaker: Helen Stephens

Helen is the Head of Church Relations at A Rocha UK - the organisation administers the Eco Church and Eco Circuit schemes. It is a Christian charity working to protect and restore the natural world and is committed to equipping Christians and churches in the UK to care for the environment. They aim to inspire individuals and families, equip churches and church leaders, build partnerships and manage land for nature and people.
In the face of accelerating climate change and species loss, we need more than ever to take action to protect and care for nature today. To find our more about A Rocha, please take a look at their website.
We're thrilled that Helen is joining us today and will be delivering an important message for all of our churches, our Circuit and us as Christians.
Marketplace

The Marketplace will run throughout the day and will be located in the main hall where refreshments will be served and where we will eat our buffet tea at the end of the day - so there will be plenty of chance to have a look around, find out more and maybe even bag a bargain!
